What does it mean to lead as a human in systems under redefinition? This question brought BASF ECMS and HR leadership together in a recent intervention inspired by Harvard’s Renaissance Now — part of the Cultural Agents program.

Under the theme “Humanities in Times of Transformation,” participants stepped outside operational formats to engage with artistic and reflective practices. At the center: Forum Theatre — a participatory methodology where leaders entered staged scenarios from their own organizational reality, took on roles, and tested alternative decisions in real time.

The result was not a predefined solution, but a shift in awareness. Leadership, the experience revealed, is not only a functional role — it is a cultural act. Sustainable transformation is built not only through systems, but through the evolution of human consciousness within organizations. At the intersection of humanities and business, the future of leadership takes shape.
