In August 2026, Mara Boccaccio facilitated a “Poetry in Translation” workshop at the HerStory International Theatre Festival in QwaQwa, Free State, drawing on the Pre-Texts methodology. Participants approached translation through mindfulness, collage, and multilingual rewriting, treating creative making as a form of reading rather than a search for equivalent words. The session demonstrated how Pre-Texts principles open new pathways for language, identity, and cultural exchange across an international festival setting.
