After training with the Pescara, Italy, group, Sara Uboldi founded “Emergency Pre-Texts” which is now dedicated to serving children in the basements of Ukrainian war zones. Among the challenging environments where Sara has brought joy through arts-based education are the transgender ward of the Reggio Emilia Prison and trauma centers for sex-trafficked immigrant women. Aligned with international Education in Emergencies (EiE) frameworks developed by UNESCO, UNICEF, and Inter-Agency Network for Education in Emergencies, trauma-informed approaches restore routine and predictability through structured, safe, and inclusive spaces.
