Professor Ibis M. Alvarez Valdivia, of the Autonoma de Barcelona, introduced Pre-Texts to the University of Matanzas, Cuba, during December 2025 as part of the Horizon Europe K-REPORTERS project. Coordinated locally by Professors Laura E. Becalli Puerta and Ismary Lara Espina, the experience benefited from contributions by senior educator Felicita Puerta. Through a shared reading of final pages from Alejo Carpentier’s The Kingdom of This World, artistic creation, dialogue, and tangents, teachers in training strengthened their skills in literacy, creativity, critical thinking, and collaborative learning. The workshop confirmed the adaptability of Pre-Texts across educational contexts and its effects to foster democratic participation, socioemotional development, and meaningful knowledge construction through the arts.
