On Monday, October 7 the Cultural Agents woke up to great news: frequent collaborator and supporter of Cultural Agents, Prof. James Robinson was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics, together with Daron Acemoğlu and Simon Johnson, from MIT. James is the Rev. Dr. Richard L. Pearson Professor of Global Conflict Studies and a University Professor at the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago. At Harris, he also directs The Pearson Institute for the Study and Resolution of Global Conflicts.
The threesome won the Prize for cutting-edge work on how political institutions impact economic development.
Only days before, James gave a brilliant presentation at our Salon on “Arts and Soft Power” at Harvard University. He contrasted the game of Chess geared to kill the king, and African Mancala which incorporates the enemy into the winning community.
Congratulations James!
