Between August 18 and 22, 2025, the Centro de Formación Permanente (CFP) in Uruguay hosted an in-person Pre-Texts training course led by Professor Doris Sommer. Educators and representatives from institutions such as ANEP (primary education), CFE (Centro de Formación en Educación), and UDELAR (Universidad de la República) came together to explore the protocol and its transformative potential.
Throughout the week, participants deepened their understanding of the methodology and developed a creative and sensitive “meta-reflection” on ways to integrate Pre-Texts into their own institutions. The sessions fostered a democratic, antiauthoritarian, and collaborative pedagogy, and created a space of trust where reinterpretation, reflection, and imagination stood at the core. This environment embodied the spirit of “yo creo”—to believe and to create—as the seed of the protocol, and offered alternative ways of teaching and learning that resist rigid, hegemonic models in contemporary education. The group closed the experience with a commitment to continued collaboration, shared resources, and the development of future projects.
