Field notes from Oscar Pardo, “Colegios Verdes del Pacifico”:
On March 31, we traveled to Istmina as part of our “Pilgrimage for Education in Chocó.”
👉 Nancy Palacios led socio-emotional support workshops for teachers at Colegio La Normal.
👉 I held dialogue sessions with students and faculty from UTCH’s Social Work program.
👉 Joined by volunteers including Sandra Palacios, painted the schoolyard at IE Andrés Bello.
In Quibdó, we also connected with:
🧑🏫 Prof. Halaby (IE Isaac Rodríguez Martínez) and 👩🏫 Prof. Ana Julia Hidalgo Ruiz (UTCH Regionalization Director).
🎉 We ended with coffee and conversation with Niza and José Camilo Córdoba.
Throughout the journey, we were accompanied by Arneth Bejarano, Field Coordinator at UTCH’s Faculty of Social Sciences—an inspiring leader deeply rooted in the region.
We hope to grow this work with more allies in the future!
