The Harvard ArtLab presented Tania Bruguera: Towards a Civic Art Practice, part of the ArtsThursdays series supported by the Harvard University Committee on the Arts (HUCA). Cuban artist Tania Bruguera joined Carrie Lambert-Beatty and David Joselit of Harvard’s Art, Film and Visual Studies Department for a conversation on her current studio work and its connection to her extensive practice. Bruguera’s art bridges political life and cultural expression, addressing collective memory, education, and social affect. Her work, born of participatory and institutional critique, reflects long-term engagement with performance and civic inquiry and appears in major international collections.
