A two-day interdisciplinary conference at Harvard — Timothy Leary’s Trips from Harvard to Mexico — brought together psychiatrists, anthropologists, journalists, and artists to revisit one of the most controversial legacies in the history of the mind. Organized with the support of The Manhindra Center and DRCLAS, the event included a staged reading of Villoro’s play Hotel Nirvana, psychiatric perspectives on psychedelic-assisted therapy, and sharp analysis of how the “war on drugs” became a pretext for political control across Latin America.
