The PiE Network — Pre-Texts in Emergency — has published its Manifesto in three languages: Italian, English, and Arabic. Drafted by Sara Uboldi, with Cultural Agents at Harvard (Doris Sommer), Centro BACH at the University of Chieti-Pescara (Pier Luigi Sacco), and CCW Cultural Welfare Centre (Catterina Seia), the document establishes a shared ethical and civic framework for the use of Pre-Texts in war zones, humanitarian crises, refugee centers, prisons, and spaces of urban marginality.
The manifesto’s core conviction: imagination is a resource for survival. Culture is not a luxury — it is a right, a form of protection, and a tool for civic reconstruction.
Over 30 organizations across Italy, Ukraine, Germany, and Africa have already joined the network.
