From May 18 to 22, 2026, Spain celebrated the International Week of Artistic Education under the banner “Tejer cultura, activar pensamiento, crear comunidad.” The decentralized initiative brought together over 40 schools, 7 universities, 60 educators, 15 cultural institutions, and 20 artists and collectives across at least 7 autonomous communities.
Led by faculty from Universidad Complutense, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and Universidad de Alcalá — alongside the Madrid Drawing Teachers Association (APD) — EDART affirmed a shared conviction: artistic education is not a complement to learning. It is its foundation.
