On June 24, 2026, the Buenos Aires Penitentiary Service launched an Art and Drawing Workshop at Penitentiary Unit N°23 in Florencio Varela — held at the “Domingo F. Sarmiento” Cultural Center, a space dedicated to educational and creative programs for incarcerated persons.
Participants engaged with drawing techniques, graphic expression, and diverse artistic tools in an environment of active exchange and collaboration. The workshop forms part of the unit’s broader formation, education, and culture programs, coordinated by Celeste García and supported by José Sánchez and Ezequiel Ovelar.
Art, here, is a shared language — and a space for dignity.
